Jolanta Oko is the Founder and Director of the Born 2 Move Dance Company. She holds a BFA in dance from York University, and is a graduate of Canada’s National Ballet School’s Teacher Training Program. Jolanta also hold a Master’s Degree in Dance from York University and is an Ontario Certified Teacher. She has danced professionally in the CFL, NAFL, CSL, USL and MSL. She holds her Associates Diploma from the Cecchetti Society of Canada and has completed leadership certification courses from a variety of renowned organizations. She has a plethora of experience in the dance world having been a dance teacher for 20 years, a studio owner for 6 and a school teacher for 9 years. She has facilitated dance in services in Halton and facilitated at provincial and national workshops about Arts Education at conferences for school board educators and administrators.
The B2M Dance Company in Hamilton strives to uphold the highest standards for professional and affordable dance education to dancers of all ages in Hamilton, Ontario and surrounding areas. We provide one of a kind opportunities through our community outreach, professional dance training, adult dance classes, children’s dance classes and networking dance studio programs. Our dancers learn technique and skills while exploring their own creativity in our Hamilton dance studio setting, which is essential to their growth as dancers, athletes and performers. Our popular Summer Performing Arts Camp/PA Day programming provides daily learning opportunities in the Arts (Dance, Music, Drama, Visual Arts) with a focus on character building year-round. Our campers grow in character while exploring team work, respect, caring and responsibility. Performing Arts Summer Camp campers not only experience each of the 4 strands of the Arts, but also engage in games and team building activities during each session. The week of camp concludes with a “Variety Show” that the campers perform for parents. The Born to Move Dance Company has served communities in and around the GTA since 2003 and are excited about our expansion into the GHA in 2017. Our excellence in providing quality dance training and education over the past 14 years has encouraged our expansion and growth to become a leader in Canadian Dance Education. We are a full-service Dance education institution in the Greater Hamilton Area. The Born 2 Move Dance Company will partner with Canada’s National Academy of Dance Education. This partnership will provide dancers with unique and one of a kind opportunities to learn from leaders in the Dance community. Dance educators, teachers and studio owners will also benefit from being able to learn and grow as dance educators in real time, through observing and teaching the Born to Move Dance Company’s dancers.
