Nomianted for the Hamilton Arts Innovator Award in 2017 and 2018, Jolanta Oko is the Founder and Director of the Born 2 Move Dance Company and Canada’s National Academy of Dance Education. She holds a BFA in dance from York University, and is a graduate of Canada’s National Ballet School’s Teacher Training Program. Jolanta also hold a Master’s Degree in Dance from York University and is an Ontario Certified Teacher. She has danced professionally in the CFL, NAFL, CSL, USL and MSL. She holds her Associates Diploma from the Cecchetti Society of Canada and has completed leadership certification courses from a variety of renowned organizations. She has a plethora of experience in the dance world having been a dance teacher for 22 years, a studio owner for 9 and a school teacher for 12 years. She has facilitated dance in services in Halton and facilitated workshops about Arts Education at conferences for school board educators and administrators.
